Live Mealworms

Ironbond's mealworms are raised with care to provide a healthy, active live feeder for reptiles and many pets like birds, rats, hedgehogs and many other small animals. Our colonies are maintained in a clean organic substrate and are provided with fresh produce from our hydroponic gardens multiple times a week to ensure they are healthy and gut-loaded before they reach your animal.

Their smaller size makes mealworms particularly convenient for appropriately sized reptiles, and their movement provides natural feeding enrichment by encouraging your animal to forage and hunt.

Best For: Bearded dragons, geckos, other insect-eating reptiles, birds, rodents and other small animals. 

Feeding Note: Mealworms contain more chitin than some softer-bodied feeders and should be incorporated into a varied, species-appropriate diet rather than relied upon as the only feeder insect.

Storage: Keep in container provided. Place in fridge to slow their development when longer storage is needed. If mealworms do pupate you are able to feed these as well to your animals. Feed the mealworms 2-3 times per week with food provided for hydration. Allow feeders to become active and feed/gut-load a small portion of the food before offering them to your animal.
